What if I told you you would never have to clean or maintain the boat as well? By placing your new or nearly new luxury sailboat in a Fractional Yachting Club, you can get the most enjoyment out of boat ownership without all of the hassles and a large amount of the costs. So maybe your not ready for the commitment of yacht ownership but would still like to pursue sailing... For about the same cost of chartering a boat for a day you could have a membership on a yacht that includes traningand allows you to use the boat as much as you like and still not have to deal with all of the other hassels of boat ownership...This presentation will show you how.

Toward Maine Weather Self Reliance: Interpreting Your Marine Weather Skills

There will be a very important discussion of the marine advisory and warning system used by the National Weather Service (NWS) marine program. These include Small Craft Advisories (SCA), Gale, Storm, and Hurricane Force Warnings. It is also critically necessary for a mariners’ safety concern to recognize the over-lapping coastal, offshore, and high seas zones from the Gulf Coast states (the Texas coast 1.e, Galveston Bay to Corpus Christi), the inland waters of the Pacific Northwest (i.e, the Puget Sound and Juan De Fuca Straits), including coverage along the WA and OR coasts to the Great Lakes, and to the east coast such as the Chesapeake Bay then offshore to Bermuda and the Canadian Maritimes.Attendees will then be introduced to some surface marine weather maps. Also, there will be an overview of local weather events, such as the "Dry Lines that affects Texas boaters (i.e, severe thunderstorms). Finally, there will a quick overview of what mariners need to do toward becoming self reliant; navigating via Lee Chenseau’s Marine Weather Homepage (http://www.marineweatherbylee.com.

Para-Anchors & Storm Drogues

Did you know that if you pay out too much anchor rode or place a bridle in the wrong position your boat can buck wildly out of control with enough force to destroy equipment? Zack Smith, drag device inventor and research pioneer in the study of drag device behavior, lets you in on the big secret of "Constant Rode Tension." Smith shares over 15 years of research, including his original formulas for keeping rode taut through specific rode adjustment, weight placement next to the para-anchor or drogue, shorter bridles with less stretch and Fiorentino’s unique "free flying sail" set-up.
